The Mattawan Public Education Foundation is excited to announce a new scholarship in the amount of $1,000 that has been made available by a generous community donor. This new scholarship is called the "Dedication Scholarship." Find out more about this scholarship and the other MPEF scholarships available. On Saturday, January 15, Alyssa Doorlag was crowned Miss Mattawan, and she says she is happy she learned more about MPEF in the process! Per pageant requirements, each of the 16 young women vying for the title must donate three hours to a charity. Alyssa was matched with MPEF and donated time to publicize our June 16, 2011 Golf Classic to local businesses.

Another pageant requirement:  present a live "commercial" about your charity. That was no problem for Alyssa, who dressed in a cap and gown to portray a graduating Mattawan senior who can apply for one of the many scholarships available through MPEF!
