MPEF values and supports scholarship and the aspirations of graduating students. Student scholarships are facilitated and coordinated by MPEF, which are available to all graduating seniors. These competitive scholarships, awarded annually, recognize success in the classroom as well as positive contributions to the school and community. Since 1993, 180 Mattawan students have received MPEF scholarships.All MPEF scholarships applications are due on March 15, 2012

EPC Endowed Scholarship - $1,000.00
The Engineered Plastic Components Endowed Scholarship was established in 1996 in observance of EPC's 10th anniversary, as an expression of gratitude for the support shown over the years by the Mattawan Community. The Engineered Plastic Components Endowed Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Mattawan High School who wishes to pursue, at the college or university level, a major in Business, Engineering, or Plastic Technology.

The Caleb J. Kerwin Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Mattawan High School who has demonstrated a commitment to the service of other through activities in the school or the outside community plus demonstrated achievement in the classroom. It is intended to assist a graduate in pursuit of a college education, in any field of study.

The Robert C. Cretsinger Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Mattawan High School who is furthering their education at a community college, has at least a 2.5 GPA, and has demonstrated school involvement and good citizenship through participation in school sponsored activities. Applicants may have been involved in athletics or any of the co-curricular or club based activities. It is intended to assist a graduate in pursuit of a college education in any field of study.

Jordan plans to attend Kalamazoo Valley Community College next year and eventually Ferris State University to pursue a career as a pharmacist.Lydia and Norman Moyle Memorial Scholarship - $1,000.00
Established in 2008, The Lydia and Norman Moyle Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to two graduating seniors of Mattawan High School who wish to pursue, at the college level a degree in education.The two scholarships will be awarded at the Mattawan Alumni Association banquet honoring graduating seniors. The banquet will be held at the Mattawan High School cafeteria the first Saturday in June.

Established in 2008, The Wildcat Enterprise Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Mattawan High School who wishes to pursue, at the college or university level, a major in Business, Economics, Precision Production Trades, Personal and Culinary Services or Communication Technologies. Applicant should have successfully completed Global Economics and Business Management and Marketing.

The Mattawan Business Association voted in 2007 to create a $500.00 scholarship in memory of fallen soldiers who attended Mattawan Schools. In addition the scholarship is aimed towards students who are pursuing a business degree since the scholarship was coming from a "Business Association". Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to the service of others through volunteer activities in the community, and demonstrate achievement in the classroom with a 2.5 GPA or greater. The applicant should have financial need for the scholarship.

Alex will study Marketing at Michigan State University.The Taylor E. Grainger Memorial Scholarship - $500.00
The Taylor E. Grainger scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Mattawan High School who has demonstrated and pursued an interest in the service of others by way of volunteering in the community or by working children with or without special needs. Examples of this service to others may include but is not limited to: Habitat for Humanity, food drives, elderly assistance programs, church mission trips, working at specialty camps, etc. The scholarship is intended to assist graduating seniors in pursuit of a college education particularly in the fields of education, medicine or social work. Graduating senior must have at least a 3.2 grade point average to apply.

The Mattawan Family Eye Care Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Mattawan High School who has demonstrated a commitment to the service of others through activities in the school or the outside community, demonstrated achievement in the classroom with a 3.0 GPA or above and participated in extra-curricular activities. The applicant should have a financial need for the scholarship. It is intended to assist the graduate in the pursuit of a college education in the healthcare field of study.

The James L. Arnold Leadership Scholarship award is given in memory of Army Pfc. James L. "Jimmy" Arnold, a true American hero, who died in the service of his country on March 15, 2007, while on duty in Iraq. His father, along with members of his family, friends and involved citizens, have established an endowed memorial fund in order to preserve Jimmy's legacy of exemplary leadership.The intent of this annual college scholarship is to grant financial assistance toward a college degree to one graduating senior varsity athlete, either male or female, who best reflects the leadership skills and traits shown by Jimmy Arnold during his athletic endeavors at Mattawan High School and his service in the United States Army.

This scholarship is based on nominations by a high school coach. McIntrye was nominated by two coaches for this scholarship and plans to study Sports Management.The Strength and Determination Scholarship - $1,500.00
The Strength & Determination Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Mattawan High School who demonstrates a valid and convincing financial need and has demonstrated achievement in the classroom with a GPA of 3.0 or above. It is intended to assist a graduate in pursuit of a college degree in a profession which emphasizes helping others such as, social work, teaching, healthcare (human and veterinarian), therapy, criminal justice, etc.

The Dedication Scholarship was established in 2011 by Lacey Physical Therapy in support of the Mattawan community. It will be awarded to a graduating senior of Mattawan High School who has demonstrated academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.0, a balanced life outlook through participation in a variety of school or community activities, and a valid financial need. It is intended to support an individual's goals for a higher education in their field of choice.
